About the event

During this interactive session, Dr. Alexis Carreiro will discuss how she’s turning her fear of failure into a “fun with failure” coaching and life philosophy. She’ll confess how one “aha!” moment led to giving up tenure, starting a business, and launching a podcast on the Queens City Podcast Network. She’ll also explore how failure is often a luxury not everyone can afford.

Key takeaways:

Why growth mindsets suck

The 5 levels of failure

How to gamify failure

Dr. Alexis Carreiro (AKA “The Pitch Prof”) is a business communications coach. She specializes in pitches, presentations, and public speaking –- because what you say is as important as how you say it. She earned her Ph.D. from UT-Austin and, for the last 8 years, she’s worked as a Professor in the Knight School of Communication at Queens University. She’s also an entrepreneur in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. Storytelling is her superpower.
